Review: Logitech Brings Wireless Charging to Mice

I am spoiled by wireless charging. I want everything to charge simply by putting it down on a flat surface. For example, my remote control, toaster, blender, etc. In fact, I did see a blender that charges wirelessly at the Consumer Electronics Show. Clearly wireless charging will be available for more than just smartphones and AirPods, And now wireless charging is available for gaming mice. Logitech sent me the Powerplay Wireless Charging System Mousepad ($119.99) to try.

One of the concerns for any wireless mouse is response time, but the Logitech mouse was highly responsive with no noticeable lag. Instead of a small (and cheap) USB receiver or relying on Bluetooth, the mousepad plugs in to your USB port to deliver power to the pad but also act as a receiver which is powerful and close to the mouse for better reception. And you never have to worry about your mouse running out of battery because it is always charged thanks to the oversized (12-inch x 13-inch) wireless charging mousepad. Gamers often prefer hard surface mousepads, but Logitech lets you choose as the company includes both soft cloth and hard surface options.

I wish the official Apple Magic Mouse was supported, as I'm always running out of battery at the most inconvenient time. The Logitech mousepad works with a couple of Logitech mice, each sold separately, thanks to a circular module that inserts into specific mice Gamers may appreciate that software that synchronizes color lighting for G logo.
