Review: Create Your Own Unique Apple Watch Band with Skinit

Over the past few years, I have used Skinit for custom adhesive skins and even phone cases, but I recently noticed they also let you create a Custom Apple Watch Band ($45). This is not a sticker, but a faux leather watch band with whatever image you conceive of printed on the surface. I ordered one for Valentine's Day. It was a big hit with my wife and makes for a truly unique present.

For my design, I used two images of our puppy dog. One for the above the watch and one for below. I admit I had to use some Photoshop skills to get my design just right, leaving enough solid color above and below the main images while avoiding the holes in the watch band, but most users should be happy with their web-based interactive design tool. Just pay attention to the orientation and leave enough of a margin around the edges. Skinit support sApple Watches in either 38/40mm or 42/44mm sizes. Despite the low price for a custom design, the band is quite well-made and feels like real leather.

SkinIt

Pros

  • 100 percent unique watch band
  • Interactive design tool
  • 38/40mm or 42/44mm support
  • Well-made faux-leather strap

Cons

  • Designing takes some attention to detail

Final Verdict

Skinit makes a lot more than custom stickers and its Custom Apple Watch Band will let you display your own unique style. Don't forget to take the time to learn how to remove and change an Apple Watch band correctly to avoid damaging the watch and your new custom band!
