How to Turn off iPhone Auto Screen Rotation:

To stop Home screen rotation on your iPhone, you'll need to turn on iPhone Portrait orientation lock.

  • Open Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of your Home screen
  • Tap the Portrait lock icon in the top right corner.
  • iPhone auto rotate is now turned off and your iPhone screen will now longer rotate when you turn your iPhone sideways.
  • To turn off iPhone Portrait orientation lock on iPhone, simply tap the lock icon again.

How to Only Turn off iPhone Split Screen in Landscape Mode:

This will allow you to continue using your iPhone in Landscape mode without the Split Screen view.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap Display & Brightness.
  • Under Display Zoom, tap View.
  • By default, your iPhone is set to standard, which is what allows your iPhone Plus to switch between portrait and Landscape mode.
  • To turn off Landscape mode, tap Zoomed. Everything on iPhone will appear larger and this will prevent the Split Screen in Landscape mode from working.
  • Tap Set in the top right corner. Your iPhone will restart to make the change.

Your iPhone will no longer have a split screen when in landscape mode; instead, the email, Note, or other item will take up the whole screen:
