Every once in a while I get a gadget I can't wait to tell everyone about. That's the case with the AOC 16" portable USB powered monitor. It's a road warrior's dream come true with its light weight and portability. It works with both PC and MAC. Once you have installed the appropriate driver, you just plug the provided USB cable into a port on your laptop and the other end into the mini USB port in the monitor, and bazingo, you are in business. For low power laptops, the supplied cable has two USB plugs and you simply use both to get the required power level.
I've seen a lot of styluses (styli?) over the years, but the latest offering looks like it will be a lot of fun, and for the right purposes, could be quite comfortable.
iMore has posted a great roundup of the best free games for the iPad. They list their three top picks in each of 11 categories of games: strategy, shooter, sports, casual, physics, action, role-playing, racing, board, word, and simulation. While all of the dozens of games listed are completely free, they're almost all "freemium" titles, meaning that they offer in-app purchases for additional features. The article includes a trailer for most of the games so that you can quickly get a sense for gameplay.
It's been a very active morning when it comes to the rumors swirling about concerning upcoming Apple developments! Here's a summary of some of today's big stories:
Pocket monkey is a new side scrolling action adventure game where you control a monkey as he travels through a forest. Throughout the game he has to collect bananas, which you can use to throw at enemies. You also collect a variety of other items in each level, some are there to help improve your rating for completing a level and others will help you complete the level directly.
Always on the lookout for a simple, easy to use application well I found it!! iPlan for iPad Calendar for my iPad2. It is streamed lined enough not to be too complicated while being intricate enough to give you those little extras.
I love books. When I acquire a classic and it ships to me, I wait patiently, but attentively, sometimes with speculative anticipation. This time was no different. I have looked longingly at this book more than once, in small shops in San Francisco’s SOMA and in Cambridge’s Central Square. And now it is to be mine.
We just keep hearing about a 7.85-inch iPad, so maybe there's something to the rumors. As is often the case, today's rumor comes via DigiTimes, the Tainwanese site that often gets its info from Apple's suppliers (and that isn't consistently accurate in its predictions). Today DigiTimes is reporting that the forthcoming iPad-mini will use "thin-film" touch technology for its display. The advantage of this technology is that the new iPad can be thinner and less expensive.
SICK, SICK, SICK!!! AMAZING, AMAZING and AMAZING! I can't say enough great things about this newly released iOS game, which currently holds the title of the App Store's Game Of The Week. This will certainly be a top, best-seller in no time flat!
